To prevent the starter motor pinion from sticking in cold weather, due to the oil film on the shaft, a modification has been tried to the bush to EL.267. The present bush is DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}730. This has been successfully tested out in the cold chamber at Derby and at Messrs. Lucas Works at Birmingham. Will you please instruct this bush on production on both large bore chassis. It will be fitted to 22-G-V and it is considered a necessary modification to the geared starter motor.
