a very small proportion are available for this work, practically all of them being worked upon either for axle testing, engine gear quietening, tuning up and final testing, or for completion of specification.

I do not think that this extra initial cost, and increased running cost is warranted and think that something should be done as regards obtaining more satisfactory" gear boxes from the works which would be made possible by the unit system of testing as I have previously pointed out by which means boxes would not be fixed to chassis until satisfactory.

In discussing this matter with Mr Wormald he agrees that there should not be the necessity for this increased expense but that the experimental dept. should immediately give their first
