In your EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn6/H6.4.23, re: Exhaust Manifolds, you stated that the Experimental Dept. was giving the matter consideration as to whether the copper asbestos washers now in use between the two outlets of the Exhaust Manifolds and the vertical pipes, could be superseded by a more reliable method for maintaining a gas-tight joint on these points, as in some cases it was found that trouble arising from Exhaust blowing was prevented by avoiding the use of these copper asbestos joints altogether.

I shall be glad to have your remarks on this point, please.
