DETACHABLE BALL BEARING SPANNER.

Will the C.O. kindly order half a dozen spanners for Experimental and EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s use, three to each of the type manufactured by Boss Spanners Ltd., which are now manufactured in Birmingham by Hunter, Ogle & Co, Corporation Street, Birmingham.

The spanner is an improvement from the point of view of strength on the Lucas girder.

I would like three each of these spanners to be handed to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}, and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and their comments on same would be of interest.

The advantage of the spanner is the positive way in which it grips the nut and avoids damaging the nut by taking the corner off - to my mind it is an excellent proposition.

At the moment there is a fine opportunity of obtaining a large supply of these spanners at the ridiculous price of 3/- each if 1000 were ordered - if 500 were ordered the price would be a little bit more. The Lucas girder is 4/8, but there is no comparison between the amount of work in, and the value for use in the two spanners.
