Extract from letter from Mr.Alexander Duckham to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} dated 26.11.36 - for enc. with Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}11/E9.12.36 ......... If our Chief Chemist, Mr.S.E.Bowrey, is put into touch with your technical people, I would much like him to have the advantage of their experience about two matters which at present interest me considerably - (a) The effect on carburetters and/or on starting of the presence of polymerised insoluble bodies which are apt to form in modern spirits owing to the large proportion of 'cracked' spirit present. (b) The seriousness or otherwise of the cylinder corrosion due to the hyper-doped fuels - I have in mind specially lead tetra-ethyl type. | ||
