Honeyman - Retail orders}2/EDI/22.5.29. it would not be an easy matter to convert the subframe prepared for 25-EX to the dropped centre type, as it would have to be completely dismantled, therefore we suggest that a new subframe is supplied of the correct type, that is for right hand chassis and with dropped centre. The original subframe prepared for this chassis could be converted to suit a right hand type chassis, and used later on for some other chassis which does not require the dropped centre type. In regard to the subframes for 24-EX. and 26-EX, these can be converted to suit right hand type chassis without much difficulty, as it merely means that we have to remove the detachable front cross member and fit it in another position and alter the rear cross member to suit the battery position in the right hand chassis. It is proposed to deal with the above subframes in the Works and not in the Experimental Dept., therefore if you will arrange for them to be returned we will issue the necessary instructions to the Works. In regard to the question of numbering subframes, we propose to supply a small brass plate on which will be marked the piece number and the subframe number which we understand should commence at 1001. We presume that all three subframes are to be returned to Lillie Hall. BY/Cgh.{W Clough} | ||
