Upon receipt of yours EFC10/T30.6.24, we wrote the Lucas Electrical Co. urging them to proceed with the repair of the armature and return same to us without any unnecessary delay. We are this morning in receipt of a letter from the Lucas Electrical Co. dated 3rd inst. as follows:- "Upon examination of the E.575 armature recently "returned to us for repairs, we find that your "Experimental Department's report is quite correct for "our Works inform us the armature is earthed and same "requires rewinding, owing to the winding conductors "having been reduced when the commutator lugs were "being turned down. A new commutator will not be "necessary as the existing one can be reskimmed. "In view of the urgency with which you are "requiring the above, we will forward a replacement "armature per post tomorrow and we trust same will be "in time to meet your requirements. "We might mention no charge will be made for the "replacement." Will OO/JT. please see that the replacement armature is handed to EFC. immediately on arrival. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} cnj. | ||
