-3- 10th. November 1937. BENTLEY 4 1/4 LITRE - CONT'D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 6.B.IV Jan.1937. R.R.50 Big end seized after 1,000 miles, replaced by A.C.5.S and A.C.6.S which were good after 12,500 miles. Hoyt's Z.3 intermediate mains badly broken up after 15,000 miles. Centre main bearing poor. 3.B.IV. March 1937. No bearing failure. A.C.2 mains, A.C.7 big ends. PHANTOM III. 3.S.1 - 32-EX June 1935. No.2 big end partially seized 13,310. Other big ends reported showing effect of heat. Rattles from blade rod bearings at 17,000, two big ends also worn. Metal broken away in No.5 and 6 intermediate main bearings after 20,000 miles. Excessive wear of big ends after 20,000. 2.S.1 - 31-EX. Oct.1935. Big end bearings run after 6,800. Mains good except for slight fracture of No. 2 intermediate after 6,800. All mains reported poor and cracked up at 10,000. Big end metal breaking up after 3,200 miles in new con. rods. | ||
