re:- Chassis No. 11-EX - Front Brake Dust Covers.

I have seen your HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG3.2.26.

As you will have seen from reports on 11-EX, the front brakes collect large quantities of mud under the conditions which prevail on the roads in France at the moment, i.e. many potholes, all full of water.

I believe that the protection afforded by the present covers would be efficient for all running conditions likely to be met in England, or abroad if the roads were dry, but as 11-EX will be returning to France towards the end of this month I think it would be wise to fit the device shown in Fig. 4 (b) before leaving.

This would, in addition to reducing the wear on the brakes and keeping them in more effective condition, give a valuable opportunity of an immediate test of this device.

Would you therefore let me know if you can arrange for this device to be fitted and when will be most convenient to you. If possible I would like it arranged so that the work can be completed before Tuesday, 16th of February.
