X.3751 X.3719. Trials Car for America. Extract from En3/W4.2.20. With reference to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}5/F24.1.20, I think the following items should be fitted to this chassis:- The numbers are the same as quoted in your note. (1) X.3612. [struck through: Gleason type gears and] Rear Axle, suitable for fitting Rear Shock Absorbers if these are found necessary. (2) Rear Springs etc. modified to be suitable for fitting Rear Shock Absorbers if these are found necessary. (3) This item is identical with (2). (5) X3896. [struck through: Quantity Gauge for Rear Petrol Tank.] I gather that there is some possibility of a Petrol Gauge being delivered from America, and this if we consider it satisfactory might be fitted as the type to be used over there. I will ascertain the position from Mr. Olley. (6) X.3751. [struck through: Modified Design of Split Piston.] (7) X.3426. [struck through: Improved starter clutch mechanism and actuating box.] (8) X.3772. [struck through: Modified Spring controlled link for tightening Dynamo Belt.] (9) X.3461b. [struck through: Rear Shock Absorbers.] [struck through: I agree to this only providing we can prepare modified pieces to correct the present faults in time. Also there is some doubt, is there not, whether we can get any more sets of shock absorbers through in time ?] [Footer text, upside down]: R R.{Sir Henry Royce} 255 (100) (T) S'F 846 6-8-19 (G). 2460 | ||
