Dust in Luggage Compartment of B.56.BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}29/KW10.6.36. Park Ward tell us that they find the dust entered at the following points:- (1) A small quantity at each outer back corner of the floor where there is not a good seal with the door. (2) The majority through the holes drilled for lightness in the wheel arch framing. The attached sketch No. 12206 will make more clear where the dust enters. Whilst they have the body, Park Ward will deal with the sealing of the door and covering the holes in the wheel arch framing. By the way, we think that what Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has in mind is the provision of a separate dust excluding door when the main door of the luggage container is arranged to fall horizontally to form an auxiliary platform for luggage. A separate dust door is not normally provided when the main door cannot form an auxiliary luggage platform, and the dust seal used on such occasions does not interfere with the luggage capacity.
