TELEPHONE, BEAUCHIEF 70480 TELEGRAMS, POLYPHASE. L. A.{Mr Adams} GAMBLEN, 5 SILVERDALE CRESCENT, ECCLESALL, SHEFFIELD. x6052. 1st April, 1933. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, Following my conversation on Thursday with Mr Elliot, Mr West and Mr Johnson re: Ignition Condensers, I have written to the works explaining the position and that they can expect from you in the course of a post or so full particulars of the conditions with which the new pattern of Condenser you have under consideration must comply. As soon as they get this data they will consider it and send you a formal quotation, together with samples as arranged. In the meantime I am xenclosing two samples which have been made up in cases somewhat similar to those which we are manufacturing for the Ford Company to which you might like to apply certain tests. I would particularly remind you that in sending particulars of your requirements to LONDON that you should state the maximum peak voltages that are likely to be applied to the Condensers required. With regard to the paper on Ionization I find that I only have an odd copy left. I am, therefore, sending this forward for your perusal, but as it is now out of print I should be glad if you would be good enough to let me have it back again after you have finished with it. If you require one permanently I will endeavour to get the particular issue of the proceedings of the Institute of Electrical Engineers in which this will no doubt appear. Yours faithfully, L. A.{Mr Adams} Gamblen LAG/KB. [Handwritten notes at bottom] of vital importance Battery ignition Very interesting paper & to discuss it with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E 4/4/33 | ||
