GASKET E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 77361. -------- America informed us that they had been advised a gasket made up of aluminium top and bottom sheets with steel ferrules was likely to be a better proposal than our present scheme of brass sheets and copper ferrules. We therefore took the matter up with the makers of these parts in this country, and have had produced the following types :- a/- Aluminium sheet with aluminium ferrules. b/- Aluminium sheet with steel ferrules. c/- An all-steel piece. The latter was put forward by the makers, as they thought it might be worth trying. Personally I think the aluminium is likely to be the best. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
