EFC5/T22.6.27. -3- Contd. as against .050 which seems to be suggested by your note previously mentioned. It occurs to us that there is a distinct advantage in making the bottom of the slots parallel with the top because there will then be a better magnetic circuit through the teeth and core at the large end of the armature and this will help in giving us the suitable law of magnetic traction on an armature longitudinal travel base. We are, for the time being, proceeding on paper in accordance with these various suggestions, but it is considered that your approval or otherwise of these is desirable before instructing this work to our shops.
