CONTRACTORS TO THE ADMIRALTY, WAR OFFICE & AIR MINISTRY. THE LANCHESTER MOTOR Co LTD PLEASE REPLY TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT. OUR REF. LR.{Mr Ellor}3./MV. YOUR REF. ___________ SANDY LANE. COVENTRY. TELEGRAMS, MOTIVITY, COVENTRY. TELEPHONE 4161. 15th September 1932. S. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Wheeler, Esq., 30, The Ridgeway, Kenton, Middlesex. Dear Sir, 18HP. Lanchester Car No. 10237. It has been brought to our notice that the type of valve springs as fitted to your car have not been entirely satisfactory in service. This has been thoroughly investigated by our Engineering department and they have designed and thoroughly tested a spring of improved design and material. These have proved entirely satisfactory both on test and in service on those cars which have already had them fitted. We therefore take this opportunity of sending to you, under separate cover, fifteen of these springs; the additional three are for inclusion in the kit as spares, in order to eliminate any possible doubt of a failure of one of the present springs. We should be much obliged if you would kindly return the displaced springs when the change over has been made. Yours faithfully, For THE LANCHESTER MOTOR COMPANY, LIMITED. W. Teuton Service Manager.
