20/25 Dynamo for 18GIV (1.24s. HC)

This machine is the first to incorporate the new die-cast end-plate with fixed control brush. It has the EJB pole modification and 48 coil armature.

The main brushes were found to be 11° retarded from neutral whereas a N machine which was electrically similar had a retard of 14°. On machine 1.24s.HC the control brush was spaced about 126° from the positive.

This setting gave an output which did not produce the allowable temperature rise and the control brush bolt-holes were therefore filed to permit of some adjustment.
