I am in receipt of DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/HP.9.11.33 relative to the above.

I took the opportunity of speaking to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} about this when with him yesterday, with a view to ascertaining what we were proposing to do about the Girling Brake, and I understand that we are intending to follow it up experimentally.

It would be of assistance in reports of this description if a recommendation could be included.

With regard to the front shimmying of the chassis, which apparently can be very much improved - if not completely cured - by fitting spring-suspended, friction damped weights on the ends of the bumper bar, now that more and more of our cars are being fitted with front bumpers, it looks as if we ought to follow up this matter closely.

I noticed yesterday and pointed out to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that there was a great deal of movement taking place in the bonnet and radiator etc. of our 20/25 Trials car so that it looks as if we were not by any means clear of this trouble.
