x7250 To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MJ.27.9.29. X1066 x7250 RADIATORS. ---------- We are not altogether satisfied with the radiator position. Reports from cars in service are so conflicting that it is difficult to get a clear idea of the troubles. The fact remains that some customers' cars have had as many as four radiators on them in quite a short period. Persons came over here about a week ago, and stated that one of their clients after having had his radiator changed more than once, set out from Paris to go south and left his car in a ditch at Sens as it began to over-heat again. At the time this happened we had informed Parsons of the nature of the trouble, so that he was not entirely in the dark. Whilst we find it impossible to find any explanation for some cars having such a bad attack of the disease, we put the facts forward to indicate that the trouble has done R.R. radiation a certain amount of harm. What we want to make sure of is that the cure we are adopting is sufficiently complete and lasting. If cars are choking up the old type radiator quickly as they appear to in exceptional circumstances, it is doubtful whether they will be immune from the trouble with the radiator having increased gap. Sales have with a certain amount of reason, pointed out that we cannot ask R.R. owners to bestow care upon their radiators which one would not expect to be necessary on | ||
