To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from HDY.{William Hardy} c.c. Mr. E.W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Esq. AMO. HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.12.6.34. Spectro Gearbox. We send herewith N. Sch.4087 which shows a modified gear lever bracket, the principal object of which is to give more clearance for the cross in the frame and to facilitate the removal of the bracket when the box is in place in the frame. The bracket is a mild steel stamping with a tube brazed in and it is thought that metal may be removed from the inside by the die to the finished contour at the lower part of the bracket and that metal left in the upper part will be all cut away by the drill and yet will guide the drill sufficiently well.
