CONCLUSIONS.

A material with a very good resistance to wear and a very constant coefficient of friction.

N.P.I. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT TEST MARK = DHQ.2. SENDERS MARK= T(L).

The method of test and apparatus used was described in our Report of October 20th., 1926, ref. DOP/CJ. The material was supplied in one piece moulded to about 10" radius, measuring 8"7 long by 2.7/8" wide by 0"37 thick. From this, four strips each 3" x ¾" were cut for the test.

Particulars of test strips.

Average wear = 0.046 inch.

Area of Test Strips = 8.820 sq. inches. Duration of Test = 6 hours.
Total work absorbed in 6 hrs = 72,220,000 ft.lbs.= 8,190,000 ft.lbs/sq.in.
Average rate of absorption of work = 6.08 h.p.
Wear figure = wear in inches for the absorption of one million ft.lbs.of work per sq. inch = 0.0056 inch.
