the O.S. every time. This is, over here, our N.S. which receives all the severe bumps, and every time we have hit the buffer hard, this bracket has either broken or be come loose. We have now fitted one of the steel brackets you sent out.

PROPELLER SHAFT.

We are still losing oil from the joint of the rear mechanics coupling.

The front sliding joint appears to be very dry. This is the self lubricating scheme, supposed to be packed with grease. It has not given any trouble but looks dry as stated.

NEARSIDE FRONT WING.

We have stiffened this up considerably, but it is not as steady as the O.S. wing. We require a stay from the frame similar to the O.S., to make it a really good job.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

You will see in our daily report that we state the dynamo output is not sufficient in conjunction with the drain on the battery, by the starter motor. We have found out lately that if we do not run the car during the daylight, the starter motor drains the battery in a few moments. It means that with the present system, an owner who only used his car for a short time during the day, would never have his battery charged, and the starter motor would fail to turn the engine. The starter motor takes too much current, and this is the primary fault.

GEARBOX.

We have truly and well 'socked' the gears, reverse included, but so far have not been able to cause any failure. We have tried the light and heavy loads as per Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}'s memo, and no gears have attempted to come out of mesh. The chunking and whine of the gears are more pronounced than what they were. The sideshaft whine is too bad for production.

----------

We have just received your memo of the 5th.

BRAKES.

We are very definite that our sponginess is nothing
