BJ2/H11.8.24.

I tried the London demonstration landaulet with front wheel springs this morning, and wired you accordingly.

We hope that LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott}, C. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} will try the car to-day.

The only point on which we feel that the trial of this car is unsatisfactory is the fact that the springs are not fitted in the way they will be fitted on Front wheel brake cars - thatis to say, the shackle is at the back instead of at the front, and we feel that possibly the Works-may shocks may reach the frame in quite a different way owing to the anchorage being in front instead of at the back.

Provided, however, that you are satisfied that the effect of these springs being reversed should make little or no difference, I am satisfied that the car rides sufficiently well to satisfy the majority of customers.

I have asked Maddocks to stay in London until we hear definitely from you what has to be done in regard to fitting front wheel brakes to our open demonstration car as mentioned in my telegram of Saturday.
