ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. X4037 OY4.R.11727 November 7th, 1927. Mr. E.W. Hives, Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby, England. RE: GASOLINE FILTER Dear Mr. Hives: Have you any experience with the Cleanable Disc Filter made under the name of "Auto-Clean" in England and "Cuno" in the United States? We are trying several of these both in the gasoline line and in a by-pass off the oil line, to replace the Purolator, and are finding reasonably good results in both cases. The gap between the discs appears rather large for filtering the fuel, but appears to work satisfactorily. The feature of easy cleaning, we think, is an important advantage over the Zenith.
