re Lockheed Hydraulic Brakes.

We were favoured with a visit from Mr. Parnell of Automotive Products Ltd. to discuss hydraulic brakes for Rippletto and Myth.

We give below a brief resume' of the conclusions arrived it.

RIPPLETTO.

Mr. Parnell is very desirous of dropping the line pressure to a figure which shall be something below 1000 lbs.sq.in. He favours 2 leading shoes for both front and rear foot brakes, and this indicates front cylinders of 1" diameter and rear cylinders of .875" diameter. The master cylinder with the line pressure previously stated, should be 1" in diameter and of the tandem variety with centre breather piston.

The reduction in line pressure will entail a slightly reduced pedal leverage to the master cylinder from that originally projected after Mr. Parnell's previous visit when the line pressure was in the neighbourhood of 1100 lbs.in.sq.

Mr. Parnell will design a master cylinder and send us a print of the scheme to enable us to make our layout. When he has produced details for the body, it was agreed that we would endeavour to obtain for him a light alloy casting.

Similarly it was agreed to adopt the same policy for light alloy bodies for the wheel cylinders.

It was agreed that the hand brake operation at the wheel should be by the Lockheed bisector of the new type which Mr. Parnell is developing.
