Following the recent weather conditions of deep snow and slush a number of cases of brakes sticking on due to various causes have occurred. We give below a list of the detail troubles which have arisen. 11.B.V. The rear brakes of this car failed to release themselves entirely due to the following causes:- (1) Centre bearing of shoe equaliser lever in O.S. rear drum seized with rust. (2) O.S. rear wedge unit plungers tight in housing due to rust. (3) O.S. rear wedge binding due to misalignment of rods from rear axle equaliser to wedges, combined with very closely fitting pins. (4) Servo equaliser linkage binding due to misalignment and close fits. (5) Servo sticking on due to internal rusting. The water appeared to have entered the servo via the bearings adjacent to the cams. 2.B.50.
