Dear Staniland, I am very sorry to hear about your experience with the Bentley. It must have been most alarming. We have experienced the trouble experimentally, we got it after driving the car very hard and over-heating the front brakes. The light alloy drums which you propose to fit to your car is one method of dealing with the trouble because they keep the linings cool. We also have another fitment which will prevent the trouble happening, even if the brakes are over-heated. We have light alloy drums already, but should like to have your car at the Works to fit them. If you would wire our Repair Department on receipt of this letter saying that you can spare the car, they would immediately collect it, and we could probably let you have it back after it has been at the factory two clear working days. I think Conduit Street could probably loan you a car for this week-end, but they will not know this for certain until to-morrow, as at the present moment a customer has borrowed the only available Trials car whilst we did some repairs to his chassis. We shall probably return the car to him to-morrow. Yours sincerely, | ||
