To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} XGE 1110 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}16/KW.17.12.35. Oil on Clutches. We have recently had considerable trouble with clutch shudder due to oil getting on the fabrics. The material we are using on the Borg & Beck clutches is particularly susceptible to oil. Will you please ask the Fitters to be particularly careful not to turn the engine up on end when there is still some oil left in the crankcase. When this is done, the oil is likely to leak through the rear main bearing on to the clutch. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
