Run from HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 24EX We have had no signs of brake squeaks in this car. I believe we have Johns-Manville linings. We might investigate this material & see what are its merits. The thermostat does not open the shutters fully. We have run for hours with the red lamp showing (92°C) but we have not lost water. I feel that it was a mistake to alter the thermometer because in warm weather we know cars will be continually running above 92°C. When we come to the thermostat we might certainly to have the lamp come in later. The clutch on this car is nearly right. it has improved slightly. We shall soon have to make a decision on this. The max speed & power seems poor. We ought. I think to arrange to do some tests on Brooklands. We latest carburettor with single air intake as fitted to 24EX, 23EX. It would useful to have some definite figures as regards speed & acceleration with two carburettors. We have heard from G.W.H. that he is in trouble with the filler in his radiator. He should destroy the filler by poking holes in it & carry on. | ||
