X4554 "G" Dept. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} BY17-P25.6.23. 20HP CHASSIS. 751-1000. MATERIAL. (1) Flywheel & Clutch. O.K. (2) Gearbox & Actuating Gear. O.K. (3) Speedometer Drive: O.K. (4) 1st & 3rd Motion: O.K. (5) 2nd Motion. O.K. (6) Reverse Gear. O.K. (7) Change Gear Mechanism & Brake. There is a proposal to bring in the new scheme by which the brake lever is moved to the right hand side of the change gear instead of the left where it is at present. (8) Hand Brake Equalising Gear. This is satisfactory when turned round so far as the change of the brake mechanism is concerned. (9) Propeller Shaft & Universal Joint. O.K. (10) Rear Axle. O.K. Rear Brakes O.K. with the exception of brake drum which may possibly have to be made in a .6 carbon steel. (11) Footbrake Equalising Gear. O.K. (12) Undersheet. O.K. (13) Rear Hub. The only change Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, thinks might possibly be affected is the one referred to on the change gear and brake mechanism. It seems to me, however, that this is doubtful, but Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, will fix this up within the next fortnight. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, will have to settle within the next fortnight all doubtful points, as by July 7th on the new program we must definitely instruct the O.O. what they are to order on all sections.
