ACCIDENT TO 19-EX.
We were proceeding along Osmaston Road behind a Corporation 'bus shortly before 9 o'clock on the morning of the 10th.inst. The 'bus pulled up abruptly at the end of Hartington Street in order to avoid an obstruction caused by repairs to the tramlines. We pulled up some three yards behind the 'bus. Almost immediately, without any warning the 'bus reversed, and inspite of our blowing the horn on 19-EX, ran into the front of the car damaging the near-side front wing.
The 'bus removed bits of its woodwork on the dumb iron.
No-one was injured. The driver of the 'bus was Mr. Glynn, 26 Leyland St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, Derby. The 'bus No. was CH.8680.
One of the men repairing the tramlines, who saw the 'bus reverse, was Mr. Evans, 51 Somerset St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, Derby.
19-EX. had been stationary for some moments before the accident happened.
