Dear Sir,

We have received a large number of enquiries from Rolls-Royce car owners asking for advice as to carburettor settings, etc., when using Cleveland Discol. We have delayed getting in touch with you until we were able to say that this spirit was nationally distributed. Now that it is, we feel that we may ask if you will be prepared to make some tests with this new alcohol fuel on your various models.

Apart from the fact that alcohol fuels are here to stay, spirits of this kind are in use in many other Countries including the British Dominions, and we feel that any tests run by you here cannot fail to react helpfully in your customers' favour when they come to use alcohol fuel. The special advantages of Cleveland Discol are that it will stand substantially higher compression ratios - actually 7 1/2 and 8 to 1 without knocking - with a much cooler engine and with a minimum of valve trouble. Its more complete combustion must result in better mileage.

We shall be very happy indeed to send you a quantity of Cleveland Discol for any tests you would like to make - road tests in preference to bench tests. If you would like any further information I will arrange for a technical representative to call to see you at your convenience. May we hope to hear from you at an early date?

Yours faithfully,

CLEVELAND PETROLEUM PRODUCTS CO.,

M Davis,
General Manager
