Dear Grylls,
Thank you for your letter of Jan. 22nd.
Your remarks re. cylinder wear on your Twelve are noted. Judging by our own experience, you will find the wear in the second 10,000 miles to be very much less than in the first.
Can you give us some information on air vents in rear axle casings? What we want to know is this:- Do you or have you ever used a vent in your rear axle casing? If you have used a vent, did it incorporate a non-return valve? Have you ever done any experiments which proved that the presence of a vent with or without a non-return valve had any bearing on the subject of oil leaks past the axle shaft oil seals?
Yours sincerely,
THE ROVER COMPANY LIMITED.
