EFC. from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} X.4617. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}1/NJ.30.1.24. c. Ey. c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. Ms. X.4617. REVISED SPECIFICATION OF 12 VOLT LIGHTING X.4414P. & STARTING BATTERY FOR 20 HP. chassis. Further to mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}3/NJ10.1.24 we are now in receipt of a letter from Peto & Radford, dated 28th inst. as follows :- "Batteries on 20 H.P. cars. Further to your "instructions that these are now to be fitted with "ebonite separators in addition to wood, and out "letter of the 9th inst. we have now heard from our "Works that the nett extra cost of these to us, not "allowing for breakage etc. is 7/- per battery. "On your order for 50 No.25478, we are "proposing to ask you 7/3d extra for this feature. "We shall be glad to know if this meets with "your approval." I assume Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} will reply to Peto & Radford's letter and I am, therefore, sending the original to him. You will note Peto & Radford have not stated what their extra charge will be for ebonite separators in batteries for 40/50 HP. chassis. I assume they will deal with this when they give us their price for the battery they are now designing, which shall be in all essential details same as the Exide battery.
