Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Hardy.

We have duly received your favor of the 16th instant, reference as above, and are very pleased indeed to know that our letter of the 14th instant was of interest to you.

We have noted your instructions to put in hand a further L7 Gear with a lower ratio cam, and this we have done, but, as stated in our previous letter, it will be necessary for us to make one or two wheels for getting the ratio required on our special machine.

The information you give in this letter would appear to be complete and enable us to put the gear in hand, which we have already done.

We note that you will be sending us the drop arm for us to cut the splines in the same to fit the rockershaft, and we look forward to receiving your official order in due course.

As regards the grade of oil which was supplied to you in the tin you took back with you with the L7 converted ratio gear, we would say that this Oil is Wakefield's Special Gear Oil "S".
