Re Exp. of Ferodo & Cast Iron Brake.

I have lately suggested Ferodo tips, so that the shoe would be faced with the centre cast iron 7 or 8" circumferential length and 2" pads at each end and since we find these wear quicker than the cast iron, I have considerable hope that they will prevent gripping suddenly. At least it is an easy experiment that is worth trying.

Owing to lower gear we should have less leverage than with 24T pinions, this point we have not noticed perhaps 50% is now enough.
