The bakelite referred to in E3/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 23.5.22. which E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} states I showed to him at the Works, were unmoulded Bakelite Powders, using asbestos as a filling. In one sample the asbestos was granular, that is to say, the length of the fibres was not great compared with their width, but in the other sample the asbestos was in the fibrous condition, some of the fibres being 1/8" long and only about 1/32" in diameter. Mr.Brock can supply you with some moulded plates produced from these powders. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
