W.A. Robotham Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd,
Derby.

Dear Robotham,

We have had a note from your people hastening delivery of chromium plated tappets. It looks rather as if it were a routine circular letter, but in any event we owe you a report on the subject.

The position is that we felt it no use sending you back tappets until we had completed some more experiments ourselves. We are trying one or two developments now as a result of the previous experience, and as soon as we can see what appears to us to be a definite improvement, we will plate some more and send them up to you.

Yours sincerely,

S B Wilks
