664 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re WXA-1. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}12/E21.4.38 Referring to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R20.4.38 I should rather like to talk to you about this when I am at Derby next week. I am sorry to say that I formed the impression that very often one's complaint is not treated seriously. Apart from the fact that I had no trouble the week-end after Ratcliffe had made the adjustment, there is the fact that, when away at Easter, the engine started readily and never once faltered when hot, and I want to make it clear that I had not changed my method of attempting to start. I hope by Monday you will have a report about the plugs referred to in Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E14.4.38 because what happened in 2500 miles on this car is something which did not happen more than about twice in three years' use - approximately 30,000 miles - on the old car, and this despite the fact that the old car was using in the winter thin Arctic oil. Re petrol consumption, pleased to say that at Easter over a total distance of about 400 miles this worked out at just over 15 miles to the gallon. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
