side is over 4' ft, this might be reduced by altering the shape of the steering connecting tube so that it is further under the front spring. The setting of this tube however has been a big job to clear every-thing under all conditions.
In testing steering locks it is very important that the stops should be set so that the front wheels have their full lock, ie the tyre should only clear the frame or steering tube by 1/4". This of course is affected by the various sizes and types of tyres used.
Our records are with 895 x 135 standard Dunlop tyres.
JACKING UP CARS.
I am afraid the extra brackets on the back axle would look very clumsy and add more weight. We ought to be able to get a suitable jack.
