Rudge-Whitworth Limited

Negotiations by the Receiver for the sale of this business as a going concern are now completed, and the business has been acquired by the Stein and Blain Group.

The first Directors of the new Company will be:

Mr. Edward de Stein
Sir Herbert E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Blain
Mr. F.G.Woollard

the latter will continue his position as Managing Director.

There is now a big financial backing behind the concern, and in due course the whole business should be on a more prosperous basis.

Mr. Edward de Stein is Chairman of the Industrial Selection Trust, a Director of the British Power and Light Corporation, Electric and Musical Industries Ltd, also the Romney Trust, and Chairman and Managing Director of the Constructive Finance and Investment Company.

Sir Herbert Blain was Chairman of the Advisory Committee appointed to investigate the affairs of the old Rudge-Whitworth Company. He is Deputy-Chairman of the Avon India Rubber Company; also associated with The National Provincial Insurance Company, and the Palmerston Investment Trust.
