"DENSA" BRAKE LINING.

This is a later development in Brake Lining manufacture, the chief feature of which is that it is non-susceptible to heat. The usual type of Brake Lining which has to be softened by heat for moulding purposes has been found unsatisfactory in those cases where extreme heat is generated in the application of the brakes. To withstand this it was necessary to evolve a type of lining which would not soften when heated, and yet retain a good co-efficient of friction. "DENSA" Linings fulfil these conditions in every respect.

These Linings will withstand a temperature of 600° F.{Mr Friese} without physical change or loss of braking efficiency, and for this reason they are particularly suited for heavy duty such as on motor buses, heavy transport lorries and hydraulic braking systems.

For the most part "DENSA" Lining is non-metallic, that is, the material before proofing is woven with pure asbestos yarns without the brass wire. If preferred the Lining can be supplied bonded or reinforced with wire in the usual way.
