X4050 We have received a message from the Dunlop Rubber Co. today saying that they intend to carry on with the manufacture of 6.75" tyres with traction tread. As these tyres are identical to those which have been run in France, there is nothing to stop our using them as soon as they are available. As regards high speed wobbles. We have carried out sufficient tests to satisfy ourselves that the 6.75" traction tread tyres can be used in conjunction with the present standard axle when hydraulic dampers are fitted. The chief disadvantage which we have found with this compared with the lightened axle is that the steering will be much heavier on either lock. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
