ID|D Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MH.{M. Huckerby} 22nd. November, 1939. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Summers, Esq., Messrs. John Summers & Sons Ltd., Hawarden Bridge Steel Works, Shotton, CHESTER. Dear Geoffrey, Thank you for your letter of November 18th. I am very much indebted to you for helping us out with this steel problem. We have sent you our requisition for 2 strips right away, the remaining 8 pieces in .25 - .3 carbon we hope to have at your earliest convenience and are passing you our order forthwith. I should very much like to come down and see you again. The difficulty is that we do not have many spare minutes. However, I have to go to our Works at Crewe quite frequently and this is more than half way to Shotton. I may make it. We have got several very interesting motor cars on ice for after the War. One which I think will appeal to you has 175 brake horse power for 35 cwts. with appreciably more room than your present Bentley. I remember you once told me that 100 horse power per ton was the right specification for a lively car. This particular animal is not a "hotted-up" model, will run reasonably well even on Pool petrol. | ||
