To B.J. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X1085 R1/M23. 6. 27. 40/50 BONNET SHUTTERS. X. 766 X. 8260 X. 1085 I quite agree with your memo. BJ5/D20. 6. 27., and that is why it was done years ago. Now things have slightly changed, our cooling is better, though naturally not sufficient under bad conditions of climate and driving. What I was after was a better appearance and simplification of all RR. cars, and saving money, because only a few would have to be fitted with louvres. £28 for cutting and forming the louvres is an absurd price. How many hundreds for the bonnet, and how many thousands for the car? R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
