The whole of the modifications are nearly unnoticeable except to experts, and need not alarm anybody.

Now we all know it is easier to go on the old way, but I so fear disaster by being out-of-date and having a lot of old stock left, and by the Sales falling off by secrets leaking out, that I must refuse all responsibility for a fatal position unless these improvements in our chassis are arranged to be shewn next autumn, and to do this they must be in production soon after midsummer 1929. I will take moral responsibility for the risk, and think it is far less than having old stock, (to wit, the aero engine situation 2 years ago,) and other risks of our present situation.

Nothing on earth should stop the production and testing of the experimental cars, and the necessary manufacturing tools, and orders for materials should be got ready so that they can be launched as soon as a part is concluded by test to be satisfactory.

My car can be kept running after I conclude that it is a good motor-car in points which I personally especially criticise.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
