I suppose I may take it from your fifth paragraph :- (1) That the dynamos on these cars will be replaced with dynamos in which the alteration of the control brush position which we have given has taken effect. (2) That the dynamos which are removed from these cars will be handed to us in the actual condition as removed from the cars, so that we may see for ourselves what performance these machines are doing. We regard this step [handwritten: as] of great importance, as it is clearly only by these dealings [handwritten: means] that we can arrive at the real reason why the system appears to run at higher voltage than is ordinarily anticipated from our tests.
