X.4430 RE GOSHAWK CONDENSER - TOP CONNECTION THROUGH LID. {A. J. Lidsey}

We are sending you herewith the top connection which was riveted up in my presence in Mr. Brock's Dept. and which has since been maintained at a temperature of 100°C for one hour, without any signs of shrinkage or development of looseness.

I have seen dismantled pieces of one of those which were loose and noted how the rivets were skewed over in the act of riveting. It appears, therefore, that the job is O.K. if sound in the first instance.

We have already proved by the use of temperature sentinels that the condenser on the chassis never attains a temperature of 73°C.
