Road Springs. (Experimental Dept.) 1305. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.2/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 4th February, 1937. James Woodhead & Sons Ltd., Kirkstall Road, LEEDS. Dear Mr. Woodhead, Confirming our conversation at your Works we should like you to produce for us two pairs of springs to FW754. The first pair to have the following specification:- (1) 1100 lbs. (2) Parallel centre bolts. (3) Spring clips not spot faced. (4) Diagonal oil grooving unnecessary. (5) Drawn points. (6) Lubrication for rear end similar to front end. (7) Finish of plates similar to Humber. (8) No cadmium plating. For the other pair of springs we should like a similar specification only that the top plates should have all the black polished out and cadmium plated. The other plates being exactly similar to the first pair of springs. The poundage also being the same. I am sending you a print of our present centre bolt so that you can produce a suitable head on the parallel bolts. I will also arrange for eight lubrication adaptors to be sent to you. Contd. | ||
