Re R.R. TOOL KIT ON "PHANTOM".

Some considerable time ago it was thought that the Tool Kit we gave with the chassis was unnecessarily large and that if we could reduce it there would be three advantages, viz

(1). Reduction in weight of the tools themselves, plus the coachwork accommodation which is necessary to carry them.

(2). The cost of the tools and the cost of the accommodation.

(3). The very real difficulty of finding proper accommodation in the chassis.

I attach hereto a summary of the tools it is recommended should be supplied and those which it is suggested should be left off (CWB4/GM/16.11.26).

Will you kindly have the matter considered by the Works Committee and let us know whether you see any objection to the suggestion and to our accordingly sending it forward for R's consideration.
