FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to - CJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL INDIA - EXHAUST CUTOUT. X5490 We send herewith N.sch. 2031. "Cutout operation", and N.sch. 2032. "Arrangement of cutout and on silencer". On N. sch. 2031. there are two alternatives shewn - (1) that with a steel plate being intended for use on existing chassis, (2) in which the mounting for the operating lever is cast solid with the gearbox cover, is intended to be used as standard as soon as possible. On N.sch. 2032 it is believed that you can spot weld the steel tube to the gun metal valve housing; if not it will be necessary to rivet this. The strength of the spring is a matter for experiment. We shew one spring which we think should be sufficient. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} RECEIVED 18 SEP 1925 | ||
